2024 World Wide Technology Championship Predictions

The PGA Tour is in Los Cabos, Mexico, this week. This tournament doesn’t have the star power in the field, but it does have a lot of hungry veterans, as well as youngsters looking to get that elusive win so many covet. This is a Tiger Woods designed golf course that has many rolling hills and spectacular views for the patrons. It is a par 72 golf course that can stretch close to 7,400 yards. The defending champion, Erik Van Rooyen, is back in the field. Look for the person with a hot putter to win this weekend, as you can normally expect the winning score to be at least 20 under.

Player to Fade:

Will Gordon is a name you see flash on the leaderboard every so often on the PGA Tour. I do not believe that will be the case this week. He lost almost two full strokes on approach at his last event, and if that trend continues, you can bet on him missing the cut!

Dark Horse:

Rico Hoey started to pop up on some leaderboards late in the season last year. He was close to getting his first win, and he managed four top tens during last season. He’s also had good form in his last three events, as he has not finished worse than 22nd. He has been gaining strokes in most categories, especially off the tee and on approach. If he continues that this week, then look out for him to make a run on the weekend!

Top 10:

21-5-2016 PGA Tour 2016, AT&T Byron Nelson Championship, TPC Four Seasons Resort, Irving, TX, USA. 19-22 May. Tom Hoge of United States hit his tee shot on #1 during the third round.

I can’t quit Tom Hoge. I always find my way back to picking him, no matter the event. He has a lot of talent, and I feel it goes unnoticed at times. He is a fantastic ball striker, but needs to find more success with the putter. He’s had 4 top 10s and made 23/29 cuts on Tour. According to Data Golf, he has only gained strokes putting twice in his last ten events. If Tom can ride a hot putter this weekend, then look for him to be in the mix for the win!

Winner:

Beau Hossler feels like he burst onto the scene when he was a young kid at the U. S. Open many years ago. He has had an up and down career, but he’s been much more up as of late. He didn’t get a win last year, but he was close several times, and I feel no better time than now to contend. Beau has recently been gaining strokes with the putter, but he has been consistently losing on approach. I think that changes this week, and I have a feeling he gets the job done to enter the winner’s circle!
