2024 Valspar Championship Predictions

This weekend finds the Tour heading into “The Most Colorful PGA Tour Tournament in the World!” That’s right, it’s time for the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Resort in beautiful Palm Harbor, Florida!  See below for our picks for this weekend:

The Fighting Illini’s Adrien Dumont de Chassart has been cut in four of his seven appearances on the TOUR this season. I predict this weekend finds him being cut in five of his eight appearances.

Dark Horse:

I never like to count out the previous year’s winner, so I am predicting that Taylor Moore finishes within the Top 20 this weekend. While Moore is not having a stellar campaign this season, he has shown that he can tame the Copperhead Course in the past, so why can’t he do it this weekend?

Top 10:

A T-3 finisher at the Valspar last season, Jordan Spieth will be coming to play this weekend, as he is coming off of three consecutive poor outings. After being cut at THE PLAYERS last weekend, Spieth should have the motivation, and the experience, to fare well this weekend. After all, the field is wide open (as is any field that does not contain Scottie Scheffler these days).

Winner:

After finishing oh-so-close to first at THE PLAYERS last weekend, Xander Schauffele needs a confidence-boosting weekend at the Valspar. He should be in line for one, as he is the preeminent name in the field this weekend and should contend for the title. We predict he will do more than just contend for the title; in fact, he’ll be hoisting the trophy on Sunday afternoon (or on Monday given the weather predictions for this weekend)!
