2021 AT&T Byron Nelson Predictions

By Amanda Robertson

The PGA Tour carries on this week with the 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson. Read on to see guest predictor Amanda Robertson’s prediction for who will win the tournament, as well as her top 10, dark horse, and player to fade predictions.

Winner: Brooks Koepka- Brooks Koepka is a beast on the course.  We see in his pattern of play that every few events he is finishing near the top.  As he won the Waste Management and had a 2nd place finish at the WGC, he has it in him.  He missed three cuts in a row right before going 19 under to win the Waste Management.  With the missed cut at the 2021 Masters, this could be another first place finish.

Top 10: Marc Leishman- Marc Leishman seems to still have what it takes to step up into the top ten.  While this is a brand new course, the Aussie fares well at this event and I think as a golfer that means a lot for the mental state going into a tournament.  He has had some solid rounds in the 60’s and placed in the top 10 multiple times within the last year.  Leishman has consistency and that’s what you need to be a top 10 finisher after 4 days.

Dark Horse: Tyler Duncan- Tyler Duncan isn’t someone you think of when it comes to the PGA Tour, but maybe you should.  While he has struggled to make it into the top 10 on a consistent basis, he has been there.  His game should set up well for this new course and he is due for a solid four days.  His putting stats say he is 26th in the ranking at 1.804 putts per GIR and he will need all of this to shine if he wants to show everyone what he is capable.

Players to Fade:  Bryson DeChambeau- Bryson DeChambeau might struggle this week, as this Arnold Palmer course is heavily tree lined and narrow with thick, tall grass that is unforgiving.  Players like Bryson who try and overpower the course might fall short if they aren’t accurate all 4 days.  While he is a resident, you might find this distance machine falling short of the top 10.
