2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard Predictions

The PGA Tour continues on this week as it visits Bay Hill Club & Lodge for the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard. The Arnold Palmer design will play as a Par 72, 7,466 yard layout this week. This year’s edition will boast the strongest field on tour so far this season, with 44 of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking teeing it up this week. Last year’s edition was won by Scottie Scheffler, who held off Tyrrell Hatton, Billy Horschel, and Viktor Hovland by one stroke to pick up his second career win in the span of three starts.

I am unfamiliar with Mr. Kyle Westmoreland’s game, and hope to be proven wrong on this one.

Dark Horse:

Last week’s winner at the Honda Classic is riding high into Bay Hill this week. Chris Kirk has finished in the top 20 six times over the course of various events at Bay Hill through the years, and I predict that he’ll do the same this week. Is he really a dark horse? Compared to this stacked field, yes.

Top 10:

The winner of last year’s API, Scottie Scheffler’s familiarity with Bay Hill and ability to play at a high level on this course will serve him well this week. He has already defended a title successfully this season, but I predict he’ll fall just short this weekend. He will still finish in a respectable position, though.

Jon Rahm is the best golfer on Earth at this moment. He is playing at a high level every week, and is truly looking like a shoe-in to win at every event he competes in this season. This week is no exception.
