2022 Valspar Championship Predictions

By Kevin Stryker

The PGA Tour continues this week as it visits Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club for the 2022 Valspar Championship. Read on below to see guest predictor Kevin Stryker’s prediction for who will win the tournament, as well as his predictions for who will finish in the top 10, his dark horse, and his player to fade.

Winner: Matthew Fitzpatrick- After a tough outing at The PLAYERS last week, I like Fitzpatrick to get his first career victory this week at Copperhead.  It’s been a long time coming, and this week just feels right.

Top 10: Justin Thomas- Talk about another pick that just feels right.  Thomas’s past success at this course, and his excellent play as of late, have him geared to land a top 10 finish this week.

Dark Horse: Russell Knox- I’m seeing a lot of chatter about Knox being a serious contender this week on various sites, and at his price of +6600 (BetMGM), talk about a serious payday if he pulls it out.

Player to Fade: Davis Love III- While I have tremendous respect for DL3, I don’t see the 57-year old having much luck this week against a stacked field of true contenders. Hopefully his $44.9 million in career earnings will comfort him.
