2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic Predictions

The PGA continues on to Detroit Golf Club this week with the 2021 Rocket Mortgage Classic. Read on below to see my prediction for who will win the tournament, as well as my predictions for who will finish in the top 10, my dark horse, and my player to fade.

Winner: Patrick Reed- Reed has had a stellar season to date, with a victory at the Farmers Insurance Open, 6 top 10’s and 13 top 25’s to go along with just 4 missed cuts in 18 starts. Reed has played well at Detroit Golf Club in the past, finishing T-5 here in 2019. Reed has been consistently towards the tops of leaderboards all season long and I predict that Patrick Reed will bring home his second victory of the season on Sunday.

Top 10: Webb Simpson- Simpson has only made 15 starts this season, but has made the most of them, finishing in the top 10 5 times and missing just 2 cuts. Simpson finished T-8 in this tournament last season and I have no reason to doubt that he will bring home another top 10 this week.

Dark Horse: Mark Hubbard- Hubbard was on a bit of a cold streak earlier this season, but has really turned it around, making each of the last 5 cuts, including a stellar 13th place at the Travelers Championship. Hubbard finished 12th in this tournament last year and I believe he could easily bring home another top 25 finish this week.

Player to Fade: Matt Every- Slump is an understatement for Every, who has not made a single cut in 16 starts and has only shot 2 rounds in the 60’s all season. I don’t see a return to form anytime soon, which is why I predict Matt Every will miss the cut this week.
