2021 Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship Predictions

The PGA Tour also travels to the Dominican Republic this week for the 2021 Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship. Read on to see my predictions for who will win the tournament, as well as my top 10, dark horse, and player to fade predictions.

Winner: Justin Suh- Suh has played extremely well in his brief PGA Tour career, making 4 of 5 cuts this season with 2 top 15 finishes in that stretch. Suh  also has knowledge of this event, shooting a pair of 67’s to open the event last year before closing with rounds of 71 and 73 to finish T-14. With a few more starts under his belt since then, I believe that Suh has the ability to put together 4 solid rounds this week to bring home his first PGA Tour victory.

Top 10: Chase Seiffert- Seiffert has been making his name known lately with some great play, finishing in the top 15 in 3 of his last 5 starts, including a T-3 finish at the Honda Classic. Seiffert has only made 1 start in this event, finishing T-41 here last year. With his strong play of late in one of the weakest fields the tour has had this season, I believe Seiffert can find himself in the top 20 come Sunday.

Dark horse: Taylor Pendrith- Pendrith has made quite the name for himself on the Korn Ferry Tour, with 6 top 10 finishes in the current wrap around season to sit 2nd on the 2021 Korn Ferry Tour Regular Season Points List behind Will Zalatoris. Pendrith has made the cut in both PGA Tour starts this season, including a T-23 at the U. S. Open. I believe another top 25 result is certainly within reach this week.

Player to fade: Hudson Swafford- Although Swafford is the defending champion of this event, his game has been non-existent since winning, making only 2 cuts in 11 events since then, including 5 straight missed cuts leading into this week. I can’t see Swafford pulling his game together this week, even with his past success here. I predict a missed cut for Swafford.
