The PGA Tour continues to the west coast this week for the 2021 American Express. Read on below to see my prediction for who will win the tournament, as well as my top 10, dark horse, and player to avoid predictions.
Winner: Patrick Cantlay- Cantlay has shown excellent form of late, with a win at the ZOZO Championship to go along with 3 top 20 finishes in his previous 5 starts. Cantlay finished 9th here in his tournament debut in 2019 and I believe that success will lead to a victory this week.

Top 10: Abraham Ancer- Although coming off a missed cut at the Sony Open in Hawaii, Ancer had previously finished in the top 20 in his three previous events. Paring that with a runner up finish in this tournament last year, I believe Ancer will keep up his good form and get himself a top 10 finish this week.
Dark horse: John Huh- Huh has finished in the top 20 in 3 of his last 4 starts. The American Express doesn’t have as strong of a field as in previous year’s which makes me believe that Huh can keep up his consistent results and lock in for another top 20 finish.
Player to fade: Matthew Wolff- After runner up finishes at the U. S. Open and the Shriners Hospital for Children Open, Wolff has fallen off the face of the earth, with a 73rd, 50th, and a MC in his last 3 starts. Wolff finished 61st in his tournament debut last year and I don’t see him improving that based on recent form.
