Player to Fade: Collin Morikawa- He has shown us that he struggles in conditions that are anything but calm. When faced with tough, windy, conditions, we truly believe Morikawa doesn’t stand a chance to finish high on the leaderboard. While he is a likable guy, unfortunately, that doesn’t get the ball up and down here at the Scottish. We have all seen the weather this week and the wind isn’t going to back down. Collin just doesn’t seem to pull through when the course gets rough.

Dark Horse: Padraig Harrington- While we have always been a Padraig fan, he hasn’t always blown us away with his play. We have a great feeling about him this week and he might just surprise us moving up the leaderboard. He plays a lot of European golf and should feel right at home on this course. If Padraig can have a strong first day, we think he will play decently well the rest of the week. We would love to see him shine at the Scottish.

Top 10: Cameron Smith- While Cam struggled to make the cut at the U.S. Open, the world hasn’t lost any faith in Cam. He is great at turning things around and we see a lot of potential for him this week. His approach shots have moved up the ranks this season and that is what any good player needs heading in this week. Precise approach shots will be what separates playing well and playing very well this week. Cam just needs to turn on that Aussie focus we have seen him carry in past events.

Winner: Jon Rahm- He is not only a fan favorite, but odds are definitely in his favor here this week. He is a two-time Irish Open winner and his ball striking seems to be clutch and that is just what he needs for this course layout. The weather will make it tough and errant shots will be exacerbated, hence why we love Rahm for the win. He has played well in tough conditions in the past and has a great head on his shoulders.
