The PGA Tour continues on to TPC Southwind this week with the 2021 World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. Read on below to see my prediction for who will win the tournament, as well as my predictions for who will finish in the top 10, my dark horse, and my player to fade.
Winner: Brooks Koepka- Brooksy has been lights out of late, finishing in the top 6 in 4 of his last 5 starts, including a T-6 in his most recent start at The 149th Open Championship. TPC Southwind has been kind to Koepka in his career, including a win, 2 runner-ups, a 3rd place result, and zero missed cuts in 7 career starts at this course. Koepka is due for a win and plays his best when the fields are the strongest. All signs point to a victory for Brooks Koepka this week.
Top 10: Daniel Berger- Berger has put together a solid season thus far, with a win and 7 top 10’s in 19 starts. Berger has also been heating up of late, finishing in the top 10 in 2 of his past 3 starts, with both of those showings coming in the past 2 majors. Berger is riding that heater into arguably his best venue on tour, where he has 2 wins and a runner-up showing in 4 career starts. Berger is a lock for a top 10 this week.
Dark Horse: Kevin Kisner- Kisner has had an up and down year, with just 3 top 10’s and 6 top 25’s in 22 starts. Kisner has shown some form recently though, finishing in the top 10 in 2 of his last 3 starts. Kisner brings some momentum to a venue where he has played well in the past, with 3 top 30 showings and no missed cuts in 5 starts. Although he won’t be a threat to win, I believe Kisner will bring home a top 25 showing by tournament’s end.
Player to Fade: Victor Perez- Since a T-4 showing at the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play, Perez has struggled mightily, missing the cut in 5 of his 6 starts since then. Perez lucks out this week, as the event ha no cut, but I expect Perez to finish outside the top 35.
