2021 Charles Schwab Challenge Predictions

The PGA Tour continues on to Texas this week with the 2021 Charles Schwab Challenge. Read on below to see my prediction for who will win the tournament, as well as my predictions for who will finish in the top 10, my dark horse, and my player to fade.

Winner: Collin Morikawa- Morikawa has played some great golf this year, finishing in the top 8 in 5 of his last 10 starts and is coming off a T-8 finish at the PGA Championship. Morikawa finished runner up in this event last year after losing in a playoff to Daniel Berger. Morikawa is currently 1st in Strokes Gained: Tee-To-Green and Strokes Gained: Approach The Green. Colonial is definitely a ballstriker’s track and I believe Morikawa will put his skills to great use and bring home the victory.

Top 10: Jordan Spieth- Jordan Spieth has returned to form and looked stellar this year, with 7 top 10’s in his last 10 starts, including a win at the Valero Texas Open. Colonial has been one of Spieth’s best courses over his career, as he has 6 top 10’s in 8 starts here, including a win and a pair of runner ups. Jordan Spieth is a lock for a top 10 this week, but don’t be surprised to see him contending for the win on Sunday.

Dark Horse: Brandt Snedeker- After a bit of a slump earlier this season, Snedeker is starting to round into form, finishing in the top 20 in 3 of his last 4 starts. Colonial is a course that fits Snedeker’s style, as he has made the cut here in all 9 starts and finished in the top 20 4 times. I believe another top 20 could be in Snedeker’s future at week’s end.

Player to Fade: Robby Shelton- Shelton has been cold of late, missing 9 of his 10 cuts this season. Shelton also missed the cut in his lone start in this event last year. Colonial is the type of course that will expose your weaknesses if you aren’t playing your best, so I predict Robby Shelton to miss the cut here this week.
